Yup. If you’re following along these adventures in the land of paradoxes and contrasts across cultures and objectives; in the universe of entrepreneurship and impact solutions the world over; and on the ground off-grid to sophisticated city skylines; you’re on the leading edge of innovation and fierce purpose, meaning, discipline, and determination in execution. These constitute the bedrock characteristics of maverick trailblazers. Thank you for being here! Just landed in my hometown NYC, after a year off grid in LatAm garnering invaluable on-the-ground experience in sustainability and nature stakes, meeting and working with key players at every touchpoint of the nature-based solutions value, conservation, and operation chain, from Indigenous legacy leaders to those who organise their protection and collaborate to create exponential solutions driving positive impact opportunities. Then, we connect and translate the principles of nature and neuroscience into mental health bytes, staging and engaging in incredible ecotherapy and wild wellness experiences. Also, welcome to the exercise of launching an online business with no internet. True story.
We have much to unpack - literally!
Culture first: sharing a fresh playlist where you can immerse yourself in a big breath of fresh air straight from the winds and wings of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia, home to the planet’s greatest bird biodiversity and perhaps the world’s Holy Mountain if there ever was one.
Devoted as can be to embark and deliver on this journey for self, humanity, and Gaia herself, the sounds I’ve gathered express just that contrast – channeling the vertiginous awe and vibrant aliveness pulsing through Nature. In her interview with Lewis Howes, renowned psychotherapist Esther Perel underlines the advent of the Identity Economy, across all facets of our lives - excerpt:
“Work has become an identity economy. It’s not just what am I going to do, it’s who am I going to be. And it parallels: what do we talk about at work? We talk about transparency, belonging, authenticity, trust, psychological safety. When did the entire emotional vocabulary enter the workplace to such a degree that soft skills – what they used to be called, which are emotional, social, and relational skills , and used to be seen as feminine skills that you can idealise in principle but disregard in reality – these soft skills have very quickly become the new hard skills.”
